Jim Stranger was the master mind behind the project. Lots of years ago Jim had donated the old wind sock/pole that was recently replaced. So it was repainted and new flag hardware was added.

Ron Stark gets the credit for allot of work, painting, digging, resquaring the sign w/the runway.

Rons sons, Donald and Emberlan & Jims son Joel and also Sandy Sanders all get credit for the muscle of the operation.

Outstanding job by all.

OK Folks,

In the continued effort to be more active in the base community we have agreed to take part in the Flying Leathernecks Museum Open Cockpit days. Chris Madsen and I are leading these events with Curtis supporting us in the background. At the May meeting, Chris and I talked about the upcoming dates that the club will be involved with:

June 13
July 25
August 22
September 5

For the June 13 event we have 11 people attending bringing about 15 aircraft. This is a great turn out and we will be needing the same for the remaining 3 dates. We will be sending out reminders as we get closer to each event, however, if you want to commit now please respond in the forum set up for the event. A link to the event forum is below. Click on it. Please list which date(s) that you would be willing to participate. We are hoping to get more members involved in these events going forward so that we don't have to rely on the same group of volunteers. Come on out for a fun day with the club and help support the base.

Just a reminder to all members. The April club meeting is tomorrow April 14th at the American Legion Hall. 7815 Armour St. Corner of Armour and Convoy St. The meeting starts promptly at 7:00pm. The Model raffle will be conducted at this meeting so If you have bought tickets for the raffle please be at the meeting. I look forward to seeing you there.
